I never planned to do this in order to raise money, but my C2C experience demonstrated that people can be very generous in sponsoring those who are completing challenges that they don’t specially want to do themselves! Therefore it feels perverse not to give a charity the opportunity to benefit from others’ generosity. In 2021 I raised almost £2000 for Buckinghamshire Mind by doing C2C. This year I am setting up a Just Giving page in aid of Thames Valley Air Ambulance, a charity that I have supported over many years. As the photo from a few years ago shows, I have had the opportunity to visit their base, and even sit in their helicopter. It's an independent charity which receives no government or national lottery funding, relying solely on donations. It costs £3,750 to send their helicopter on each mission. As a solo walker in sometimes hazardous and remote areas, it seems a particularly good cause to support. If you are interested in chipping in, then my Just Giving page is here. Many thanks!
